Kayaking
Getting out on the water in a kayak is a unique experience that offers a delightfully fresh perspective to the wonder that is the Wild Atlantic Way.
West Cork’s stunning coastal backdrop, and its countless sheltered inlets, coves and harbours make it the ideal location to either try your hand at kayaking for the first time, or, if you’re an experienced kayaker, to get out and explore this breath-taking stretch of the Wild Atlantic Way from the water.
Kayaking is a fantastic activity for individuals and families, and we’ve partnered with one of Ireland’s leading kayaking instructors, Jim Kennedy of Atlantic Sea Kayaking, to offer a range of trips to suit everyone from beginner to expert.
These include the popular and magical Moonlight/Starlight Kayaking adventure, Dawn and Evening Chorus Kayaking as well as Marine Safaris and the Secrets of Seaweed, where you’ll learn to recognise various seaweeds, taste the edible ones and learn about the wonderful and many positive attributes of Seaweed. It’s a must for all foragers out there.
Half Day and Full Day kayaking packages are available, along with many other options - you’ll find more information on the Atlantic Sea Kayaking website.
